Amid the global push toward sustainable development and digital transformation, sustainability has become a critical issue for the cultural and creative industries. In response, the Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau will host a series of eight lectures in June under the theme “Sustainable Cultural and Creative AI Generation.” The event will feature experts across the fields of design, technology, and sustainability. The lectures aim to explore how brands can incorporate sustainable values into their creative processes and operations through three key perspectives: Thinking, Practice, and Materials, while leveraging AI technologies to open possibilities and establish a forward-looking circular ecosystem for sustainable cultural and creative development.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau noted that, building on the enthusiastic response to the Cultural and Creative Resources Briefing held in April, it will continue to empower local cultural and creative professionals through diverse initiatives, including the Sustainable Cultural and Creative Lecture Series. The lectures will take place on June 12, 13, 17, and 27 at Zero Space and the Taichung Branch of the School of Continuing Education, Chinese Culture University. Registration is now open and free of charge. Cultural and creative practitioners, university students, and members of the public interested in the cultural and creative industries, AI industries, and digital marketing are all welcome to participate, broaden industry perspectives, and inspire innovative thinking.
The first session of the lecture series will feature Andrew Huang, founder of TAGather Goods, who will speak on the topic “Sustainable Thinking: Unlocking Youth Entrepreneurship Through ESG Values.” Huang will share insights into how ESG principles have helped overcome challenges in the entrepreneurial journey, illustrating how brands can establish a distinctive identity through real-world examples. In the afternoon session, Ho Cheng-Yo, founder of Home Work, will guide participants in exploring how sustainability can be integrated into both business models and daily life, starting from personal experiences to build a sustainable lifestyle ecosystem. Subsequent sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including Sustainable Materials and the Circular Economy, Brand Experience Sharing, AI-driven Design Thinking, and the Application of AI Tools Along with Legal Responsibilities and Risk Analysis. With its diverse and engaging content, the series promises to be both informative and inspiring.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau added that in-person attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and industry professionals. Participants who complete a feedback survey will also receive an exclusive gift. For those unable to attend in person, the lectures will be simultaneously livestreamed online to encourage broader participation. Through this lecture series, the Cultural Affairs Bureau hopes to support Taichung’s cultural and creative professionals in keeping pace with industry trends, discovering their own sustainable development paths, and collectively shaping a sustainable future for cultural and creative industries in Taichung.
