To help cultural and creative industry operators in Taichung stay current with sustainability trends and innovative applications, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government held the "Sustainable Cultural Creativity with AI Co-Creation" Cultural and Creative Resources Briefing at the Cultural Heritage Park of the Ministry of Culture on May 8. The event attracted nearly one hundred cultural and creative industry operators. Through an overview of government resources and the sharing of case studies, participants explored opportunities for integrating business development with sustainability in the cultural and creative sector.
Chun-Fu Shih, Deputy Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, stated that the cultural and creative industries are an important expression of a city’s soft power. In the face of growing global emphasis on sustainable development, the Bureau recognizes that the cultural and creative industries must continue innovating and adapting in order to remain competitive. This year’s support program takes "Sustainable Cultural Creativity with AI Co-Creation" as its central theme, with the aim of guiding operators to integrate creativity with sustainable practices and open up more diverse business models and market opportunities. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government will continue to integrate cross disciplinary resources and provide the most practical support for cultural and creative operators, working together to make Taichung a livable city full of cultural charm and innovative vitality.
The Bureau explained that, in addition to reviewing and sharing government resources for the cultural and creative sector, the briefing also specially invited Szu-Ting Pan, founder of Duck Art Studio, to share the experience of cross industry collaboration with HIWIN Technologies Corp. Pan explained in clear and accessible terms how a brand can be deeply connected with corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Pan noted, “Cultural action can not only enhance a company’s image, but can also create tangible brand value. We hope this sharing session will inject new momentum into the development of Taichung’s cultural and creative industries.”
The Bureau further stated that, after participating in last year’s resource briefing, InYou Craft & Contemporary Art Studio promptly registered for the 2025 Taichung Original Design open call and successfully received certification in the Creative Lifestyle category. Through the brand program, it also secured overseas purchase orders, allowing the brand to move from the local market onto the international stage. Another notable example is Qingzhi Yuwu Handmade Lifestyle Studio. After taking part in the briefing, the studio’s founder actively responded to the 2025 Taichung Artspots Open Call and was successfully selected, officially becoming one of the city’s Artspot operators.
Participants in this briefing all said they found it highly rewarding and gained a better understanding of the many resources available to them, which in turn promoted knowledge exchange and cross disciplinary connections. Looking ahead, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government will continue to support more local cultural and creative brands and arts organizations through diverse guidance measures, resource matchmaking, and platform building, helping them shine more brightly. As the briefing was rich and engaging, some members of the public enthusiastically expressed the hope of revisiting its highlights. The Bureau has therefore uploaded the livestream link to the "Taichung Original, Local Cultural Creativity" YouTube channel and welcomes the public to view it online.
