The 2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will take place with grand displays from Feb. 16 to 25 at Taichung Central Park.  Under the theme of 'Taiwanese Dragons Celebration', 'Bravo, Taichung!?and the Taiwanese phrase 'long he'(龍賀), which sounds like 'everything is fine', the festival will convey the all-around comfort and livability that Taichung residents enjoy. The Lantern Festival area will mainly highlight the traditional dragon zodiac sign, transforming by day into a large-scale installation art park and by night into a dazzling lantern paradise, mixing elements to showcase the brilliant charm of Taichung's nature, humanities and cultures.

The Feb. 16 opening ceremony will feature performances by the Nippota Performance Group from Hirosaki City in Japan's Aomori Prefecture; Diabolo Dance Theatre; and Taiwan Aboriginal Dance Culture and Arts Group. The Feb. 25 closing ceremony will include performances by the Ambassador of Tottori Sounding Bells, Teacher Lai Jianyu and the Huang Family Orchestra, Cnamak Percussion Chorus, and Ciao Joanna Latin Jazz Flamenco, in a public Lantern Festival celebration that wishes all a wonderful start to the new year.
