The 2024 Taichung Jazz Festival will take place at Taichung Civic Square from October 11 to 20. Everyone across the country is warmly invited to participate in this exciting event! This year’s main stage will showcase bands and top musicians from 12 countries and regions, including Germany, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, the U.S., France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Sweden, Russia, and Taiwan, offering a diverse jazz music experience for Taichung.

This year's main stage will focus on the theme “Women in Jazz,” featuring well-known female musicians from around the world. The lineup includes Sherrie Maricle, the “godmother of jazz” from the U.S., as well as Taiwanese musicians like 9m88, Shawna Yang, Yu-Ying Hsu, and Ruby Pan. These performances, centered on women's empowerment, will bring a fresh and captivating charm to jazz music. Additionally, there will be exclusive collaborations between Taiwanese and international musicians, offering a unique blend of multicultural jazz. As the Taichung Jazz Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary, JABBERLOOP, a Japanese jazz band formed 20 years ago, will perform a special anniversary concert, “Meeting at 20, Get into JABBERLOOP” at the National Taichung Theater, on October 20.

According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, this year’s Jazz Festival has partnered with over 100 different businesses, offering discounts and deals from July until the end of the year. Furthermore, the festival is working with various brands, including the ELLE magazine, Wu Feng Farmer's Association Distillery, the German beer brand Warsteiner and others to launch co-branded products and marketing initiatives, enhancing the audience’s jazz experience with exciting new lifestyle elements.

The Taichung Jazz Festival’s tour performances have already taken place in mid-to-late September across the mountain, coastal, Tun, and city areas. These performances, held at venues such as Pacific Department Store FENG YUAN, the Taichung City Seaport Art Center, Guang Fu New Village in Wufeng District, and Yide Mansion in Beitun District, were well-received by the public. The main stage events will run for 10 days starting October 11 at Taichung Civic Square, and everyone is invited to join with family and friends for a delightful jazz-filled time.
