After a recent pop-up sale at Taipei's Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taichung Original Design (TCOD)’s selected products in 2024 are now available at the historic Datun District Office for a limited time! The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government, in partnership with Taichung’s brands, will feature selected items from the past four editions until November 10. This 10-day sale includes exclusive deals, offering a prime opportunity for hipsters to go shopping.
According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, this year's TCOD pop-up sale, in conjunction with the “Design Hub in Taichung” event, takes place at the historic Datun District Office. The venue brings together culture, creativity, and heritage preservation and reuse, reflecting the city’s distinctive mix of tradition and modernity. This special sale showcases certified selections from the first to fourth editions, including products from Master A-Tsung, Si Cyuan, and Kousancraft. There will also be limited-time promotions on a range of products, offering a wonderful chance to support Taichung's cultural and creative brands.
The brand “AURA,” established by a designer couple, was selected for its eco-friendly cold-process handmade soap series, which received positive responses at the pop-up sale in Taipei. Designer Huang Hao-Chun mentioned that exhibiting at Taipei's Songyan Market allowed for direct engagement with customers, offering valuable insights into their perspectives—an important and rare opportunity for the brand. Liao Yu-Chiao, the marketing planner for the Merry Young sock shop under the Maria Social Welfare Foundation, expressed appreciation to TCOD for the opportunity to increase the visibility of Merry Young. Liao hopes that people will come to know Taichung more deeply from the perspectives of the foundation’s youth and adopt the “wear good socks, do good deeds” spirit as part of a new fashion trend.
Open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 10, this event also includes the Taichung Cultural and Creative Design Joint Exhibition, showcasing cultural and creative work from 19 bureaus and departments of the city government. On November 9 and 10, the JOWO Market, a unique cultural and creative fair, will open. Welcome all to visit the historic Datun District Office to enjoy the exhibition, explore the market, and buy quality products.
