As the Chinese New Year draws near, the Tun District Art Center celebrates with a “Snake Brings Good Luck” theme, offering a range of festive activities rooted in traditional customs. These include the distribution of limited-edition Year of the Snake red envelopes and the Auspicious Persimmon New Year Painting event, where persimmons and oranges on a red background were delicately designed, symbolizing good fortune in 3D New Year art. On January 19 (Sunday), the calligraphy event Auspicious Snake Welcomes the New Year invited local masters to demonstrate their unique calligraphy styles, spreading New Year wishes and blessings of good luck.
During the holiday season, the Tun District Art Center also invites the public to join the festivities. On the fourth day of the new year, an outdoor performance will feature the performances of Sichuan opera face-changing and magic tricks, with audience participation encouraged. Limited snake-themed lucky bags will be distributed that day to add to the celebratory atmosphere.
Furthermore, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of exhibitions, including the Shuang Wen Junior High School 5th Art Class Graduation Exhibition, showcasing works in ink painting, sketching, watercolor, design, and calligraphy. The Master Encounters at the Corner exhibition features Mrs. Chen Yi-jr’s paintings inspired by her travels and everyday life. The Tun Art Academy exhibits the accomplishments of workshop participants and the impressive works of the teachers. Lastly, Mr. Fang Tsao’s Art Exhibition showcases the journey of exploring the integration of Eastern and Western art history through Fang’s travels and artistic practice. Together, we celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Golden Snake!
