Celebrate the Children's Day Holiday in Taichung! Taichung City Government and BOBDOG Invite Families to the Children's Arts Festival

Welcome April, the Month of Children, with the “Taichung Kids' Fun” event series! Organized by the Taichung City Government, this event series includes the 2025 Taichung Children's Arts Festival, hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau. From April 3 (Thursday) to April 5 (Saturday), 2 PM to 8 PM, Wen-Xin Forest Park will come alive with exciting festivities. This year, the festival teams up with BOBDOG, a beloved classic character, inviting families to enjoy its delightful charm. The event will feature performances by talented groups and street performers, interactive activities for parents and children, and a parent-child market. With a variety of fun and artistic experiences, the event promises a joyful time for families to share together!

To foster a strong foundation in art education, the Taichung City Government has launched the “Taichung Kids' Fun” series as part of the Children's Month in April. This year, the Taichung Children's Arts Festival coincides with the Children’s Day holiday, bringing even more excitement for families. A major highlight of this year’s event is its collaboration with the beloved, familiar cartoon character BOBDOG. The event will showcase giant inflatable BOBDOG displays and installations for photos. Moreover, families can extend the experience beyond the festival with BOBDOG-themed hotel stays at Evergreen Laurel Hotel, offered in partnership with THSR Holiday Packages—making the interaction with BOBDOG last from check-in to festival fun.

This year’s event features another highlight—the premiere of Norza: The Adventure to the Dragon Palace by the renowned Paperwindmill Theatre at Fulfillment Amphitheatre. This show blends 3D animation, vibrant lighting effects, traditional puppet theater, and opera-style martial arts, creating an immersive journey that takes audiences on an exhilarating adventure across land and sea! From April 3 to April 5, the event will showcase performances by 12 talented groups and street artists, along with interactive games designed for families and a bustling parent-child market. Children and parents are sure to enjoy a fun-filled festival experience!

To fill the entire month of April with fantastic family-friendly activities, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has organized weekend performances at arts and cultural venues, giving families the chance to enjoy professional theater productions in an immersive setting. With the theme “Join BOBDOG on a Journey to Dream Island,” this year’s festival offers a diverse lineup of events: the “Dream-Making Theater” outdoor performance, nine shows by street artists, 13 interactive “Dream Party” parent-child activities, and the lively “Dreamy Gift Market” filled with food and fun. On weekends, the Tun District Art Center will feature five ticketed performances, including a special highlight—My Little Boys: A-Nee-Gu’s Family, a puppet theater adaptation of Luo Yi-jun’s classic work, performed by the acclaimed A-Nee-Gu Puppet Theater. The show is surely exciting and a must-see! The festival also embraces Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by incorporating themes of clean water and sanitation, responsible consumption and production, and climate action. Residents are invited to bring picnic mats and join in this celebration.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau noted that the Taichung Parent-Child Music Festival, hosted by the Information Bureau, will take place on March 29 and 30 at Taichung Park! This year, the event invited the world-famous Bluey for the very first time in Taichung. The festival will feature Taiwan’s first-ever giant inflatable Bluey, along with exclusive limited-edition Bluey gifts, including customized canvas tote bags and stickers. Kids and parents alike are invited to embark on a musical adventure with Bluey!
