Where do museum objects live when they are not on display, and how are fragile textiles and garments safely preserved while awaiting their next encounter with the public? The Taichung Museum of Fiber Arts presents the special exhibition "Collections Storage Essentials: Secrets of Textile Collections — From Collections Storage to Object Care", bringing the behind-the-scenes work of collections management into the spotlight. Guided by relatable questions and engaging visual illustrations, this exhibition walks visitors through every step of object care—from cataloguing and custom packing to preventive conservation, environmental monitoring, and safe cleaning. Every textile object carries rich craftsmanship and human memories. We warmly invite you to step into the hidden world of museum storage and discover how we protect these cultural treasures for future generations.
Exhibition Highlights (Six Core Units):
